ICBC, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, purchased the property at 12 Paseo de Recoletos avenue in Madrid at auction in 2013 with the aim of establishing there its new headquarters in Spain.
An exclusive and hallmark property in Madrid, very attractive after dark, thanks to the well thought lighting of the facade. A stately property typical of the exclusive location where it stands.
Two underground garage floors and 7 floors above ground: the ground floor with its mezzanine and the seventh floor are very representative and for exclusive client use, while the intermediate ones are and equipped as operating floors. All of them are looking out onto an interior patio that used to unite them but that also unfortunately was unfavorable towards our environmental concerns due to high energy consumption.
To this purpose, ICBC commissioned Unifica for the project and the CBRE for works, who subcontracted us for installations execution. We handled electric applications on the entire property (two 30Kva UPSs, workstations, adaptation of electrical panels, ...), FP (detection, fire hoses, fire extinguishers), audiovisuals, air conditioning and ventilation, telecoms (structured wiring), in all areas (administration, management, representation / client, CPD and provision for branch and customer service ATMs on the ground floor).
An interesting challenge was focusing simultaneously on the bank’s high security standards and the intrinsic conditioning factors of a historical building, while combining them with the functionality required for an operational office, but nonetheless portraying of their philosophy and values, where to receive Chinese investors and clients.
A project in which Spain, China, History, and leading-edge technology coexist in perfect harmony
