
The project by Carlos Manzano Arquitectos for Samsic focuses on the implementation of a ventilated composite façade to enhance both the aesthetics and energy efficiency of the building. To achieve this, an insulating layer is incorporated into the façade's air chamber, optimizing the overall thermal performance. Additionally, the replacement of the existing carpentry is planned to ensure greater efficiency and aesthetic coherence with the new design.
From a formal perspective, the proposal aims to create the perception that the third and fourth floors form a visually distinct box resting on the ground and first floors. This effect is achieved through the use of metallic gray composite panels on the upper floors, contrasting with the color of the lower floors, which will match the carpentry, reinforcing design continuity and integration.
This intervention not only aims to improve the building's safety and durability but also seeks to optimize its aesthetics and energy efficiency.
Replacement of the façade cladding, substituting the granite with a ventilated composite façade system, which will enhance both the building's appearance and its thermal and energy performance. An additional insulating layer will be incorporated into the air chamber of the new façade.
Renovation of the exterior carpentry across the entire façade, modifying both the material and the existing color. Additionally, the layout of some windows will be adjusted to improve the overall aesthetic composition and functionality.
Modification of the building's compositional lines, creating a visual perception in which the third and fourth floors form a distinct box that appears to rest on the ground and first floors. To achieve this, the upper two floors will feature composite panels with a metallic gray finish, while the lower floors will use a matte dark gray tone, the same as the carpentry, ensuring visual coherence.
Replacement of the access system, maintaining its original configuration.
