Iberia decided in 2017 to update the two most emblematic VIP lounges at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. For this purpose, the project was commissioned to Lamela Studio, and Tetris was entrusted with the execution of the works. Tetris placed its trust in us to carry out the adaptation of all the facilities outlined in the Transformation Project for the Velázquez and Dalí Lounges, located in T4 and T4S
The works were carried out in two phases (summers of 2017 and 2018), outside of working hours, while keeping one of the lounges always operational. This ensured continuous service to VIP clients.
These waiting spaces for the company's VIP clients were modernized by creating different environments, relaxation areas, meeting and working rooms, recreational areas equipped with connectivity-enabled furniture, a wine cellar, cafeteria, and buffet with cold and hot dishes, shower and toilet area, as well as areas with restricted access for Iberia staff, including kitchens, refrigerated rooms, laundry rooms, facilities rooms, and storage areas
Regarding facilities, we ensured the execution reached a high level of comfort and met the demands of these spaces, acting on low-voltage electrical installations, telecommunications, HVAC, plumbing, audiovisual systems, public address systems, security (CCTV, access control), and fire detection and extinguishing.
We successfully adapted to the complex access, operation, and work protocols specific to the airport. A collective success based on effort, flexibility, and commitment
