The prestigious hotel chain ROOM MATE has entrusted FLULLE with the execution of the renovation works for one of its most iconic hotels in the Spanish capital.
Hotel Room Mate Macarena is located in a historic building on Madrid’s Gran Vía. With 10 floors above ground and a panoramic rooftop terrace, the property combines an iconic façade with contemporary interior design by Tomás Alía, featuring 146 stylish rooms.
FLULLE was tasked with a highly focused and demanding renovation: transforming 21 existing rooms across 7 floors. The scope involved converting three single rooms into two larger quadruple suites per floor, while adapting both architecture and building services to the new layout—always preserving the original design intent.
Additionally, a new service lift was installed for staff use, requiring structural adaptation of an existing shaft and the construction of new metal framing.
One of the main complexities was the need to coordinate all construction works without interrupting the hotel’s operations. This meant working alongside guests and staff, each with different schedules and needs. Precision planning and seamless coordination were key to success.
The hotel remained fully operational throughout the construction phase. This called for meticulous logistics, a flexible execution model, and constant communication with the hotel management.
FLULLE operates through a work model based on continuous coordination between trades, constant adaptation to real site conditions, and smooth communication with both the client and the architectural team. The intervention was carried out floor by floor, minimizing the impact on hotel guests and staff.
The result: functional and elegant new suites, featuring discreet technical solutions that respect the aesthetic vision of Tomás Alía, and improved operational flow thanks to the new service lift.
FLULLE continues to strengthen its position as a general contractor specialized in hotel building refurbishment. We keep going...
